Open Question: 2010 MLB final standings prediction?
These are my predictions for the upcoming 2010 MLB season. Now that all the big name free agent names are off the market, it is safe to say the remaining ones won’t make a big impact on the teams they sign with. AL West: intense battle 1. Texas Rangers 95-67 (good pitching staff lineup) 2. Seattle Mariners 90-72 (have a perfect pitching staff, power bat would guarantee playoff slot) 3. Los Angeles Angels 88-74 (while their rivals bulked up, angels lost weight) 4. Oakland Athletics 71-91 AL Central: 1. Minnesota Twins 90-72 2. Chicago White Sox 85-77 (may surpass twins if peavy goes back to full potential) 3. Detroit Tigers 81-81 (lost too many key players) 4. Cleveland Indians 70-92 5. Kansas City Royals 56-106 (would’ve been in 3rd or 4th, lost too many key players) AL East: 1 New York Yankees 105-57 2. WC- Boston Red Sox 93-69 3. Tampa Bay Rays 82-80 4. Baltimore Orioles 79-83 (made good improvements) 5. Toronto Blue Jays 62-100 (loss of Halladay and lack of offseason moves = last place) NL West: 1. Colorado Rockies 95-67 2. San Francisco Giants 90-72 (see seattle mariners) 3. Los Angeles Dodgers 87-75 (see los angeles angels) 4. Arizona Diamondbacks 82-80 (working back to the top) 5. San Diego Padres 66-96 NL Central: 1. St. Louis Cardinals 97-65 2. Milwaukee Brewers 86-76 3. Chicago Cubs 84-78 4. Cincinnati Reds 80-82 5. Houston Astros 64-98 6. Pittsburgh Pirates 57-105 NL East: 1. Philadelphia Phillies 100-62 2. WC-Atlanta Braves 91-71 3. Florida Marlins 83-79 4. Washington Nationals 61-101 (made cheesy improvements) 5. New York Mets 60-102 (weren’t they supposed to be active this offseason?) NLDS: Phillies over Rockies in 5 Cardinals over Braves in 4 NLCS: Cardinals over Phillies in 7 ALDS: Yankees over Twins in 4 Red Sox over Rangers in 3 ALCS: Yankees over Red Sox in 7 World Series: Yankees over Cardinals in 7 Who do you have?

Resolved Question: what do you think of this MLB 2010 season prediction?
AL East NY Yankees 101-61 Boston Red Sox 89-73 TB Rays 86-76 Baltimore Orioles 77-85 Toronto Blue Jays 61-101 AL Central Minnesota Twins 84-78 Detroit Tigers 82-80 Chicago White Sox 80-82 KC Royals 70-92 Cleveland Indians 65-97 AL West Seattle Mariners 90-72 Texas Rangers 86-76 LA Angels 86-76 Oakland A’s 71-91 NL East Philadelphia Phillies 95-67 Atlanta Braves 88-74 Florida Marlins 80-82 NY Mets 80-82 Washington Nationals 74-88 NL Central Milwaukee Brewers 90-72 St. Louis Cardinals 89-73 Cincinnati Reds 82-80 Chicago Cubs 82-80 Houston Astros 73-89 Pittsburgh Pirates 59-103 NL West Colorado Rockies 92-70 SF Giants 90-72 LA Dodgers 89-73 Arizona Diamondbacks 75-87 SD Padres 64-98 Playoffs NL Divisional PHI-3 SF-2 COL-3 MIL-1 AL Divisional NYY-3 MIN-2 SEA-2 BOS-3 NLCS PHI-3 COL-4 ALCS NYY-4 BOS-2 World Series COL-3 NYY-4 AL MVP: Nick Markakis (35 HR, 120 RBI, 215 HITS, .336 AVG) AL CY: Felix Hernandez (20-4, 2.79 ERA, 255 K’s 1.10 WHIP) NL CPOY: Jose Guillen NL MVP: Ryan Braun (48 HR, 135, 200 HITS, .324 AVG) NL CY: Bronson Arroyo (16-10, 2.60 ERA, 228 K’s, 1.12 WHIP) NL CPOY: Brandon Webb If you disagree let me know what your 2010 prediction is. In response to Dan the Pittsburgh Sports Guy, i agree the Pirates have enough young talent to be a better team next year so 59-103 might be a bit harsh but 77 wins seems like abit much too. Also the cubs are way overrated, there is no way they will finish ahead of the brewers. The dodgers are about equally overrated too.
